Urban planners help communities create a vision and develop a plan to achieve that vision. Planners try to provide good advice based on their experience and knowledge.
We are volunteers believing that meaningful community participation is the essence of good planning. Some of us are professional planners; some are urban planning educators and scholars; and some are planning school students.
There is no logic that can be superimposed on the city; people make it, and it is to them, not buildings, that we must fit our plans.
